How It Works
Everyday our faces are exposed to environmental factors such as dirt, dust, pollutants; Things we put on, such as makeup; Skin's own secretion, such as sweat, metabolites, excess sebum (oil). The challenge of facial cleanser is to be able to effectively remove all the above impurities without disrupt skin's natural moisture barrier.
Many cleansers uses cleansing chemicals and simply strip everything as they can't distiguish the impurities that need to be removed and the natural barrier that needs to be left to serve as skin's own protector. As a result, skin is left defenseless, which not only makes skin more sensitive, but also causes over producing of sebum (oil). For people with sensitive skin they may experience dryness, itch and irratation, and more vulnerable to environment impacts like cold, sun, wind, and etc. For people with oily skin, their skin will get more oily and pores become bigger due to excess sebum as skin tries to compensate the lost sebum from cleansing.
